Climbing for Breast Cancer 2009
My daughters Arianna and Natasha. Me on the summit of Cotopaxi, 2008.
In June 2009, I plan to climb Mt. Hvannadalshnukur, the highest mountain in Iceland, to help raise money for research to create a vaccine for breast cancer. I am doing this for my daughters Arianna and Natasha, as well as in the memory of my Aunt Patty and my friend Mary Jane Kukuk. I hope that my daughters will never have to suffer this disease. I will be taking on this adventure with their thoughts and memories to inspire me. This is not the first time I have participated in Climb For Hope. Last year, I climbed Mt. Cotopaxi in Ecuador. It was a phenomenal experience, and very gratifying in that our team raised over $100,000 – a sum that helped speed up the highly promising breast cancer research being performed at Johns Hopkins. This year, my personal goal is to raise a minimum of $8,000.00. My deadline for donations is July 1st, 2009. Please check out Climbforhope.org for links to information about the vaccine research and our climbing itinerary. I appreciate your support for what is the beginning of another amazing journey -- one that will directly help the important work on a vaccine that has shown promise in fighting breast cancer and saving the lives of thousands of women. Thank you so much for your kindness, friendship, and support. Ted p.s. If you would rather send a check, please make it out to: Climb For Hope, Ted Williams, 2816 Mary Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15203
