Stepping up to beat breast cancer
COTOPAXI: the world's highest active volcano
New Page 1

In January 2008 I will be returning to Ecuador to climb Cotopaxi as a member of the Climb for Hope team. Cotopaxi is the world's highest active volcano at 19,388' and climbing it last January was the most difficult thing I've ever done. Doing something that hard in thin air on little sleep is the closest I hope I ever get to what it must be like to deal with cancer treatments. Last year our team provided over $100,000 for cutting-edge vaccine research by Dr. Leisha Emen’s research at Johns Hopkins University. The funds accelerated her research by 6 months! Imagine how many lives might be saved through this effort.

My personal goal is to raise a minimum of $10,000. Climb for Hope is like David facing the Goliath of breast cancer. Please join me--together our small efforts can have big effects - let's beat breast cancer NOW!

Check out Climb For Hope for links to information about the vaccine research and our climbing itinerary. Also check out this link to a website for fabulous photos of Cotopaxi.

Thank you so much for your friendship and support.
