| One year ago Brandon's sister, Courtney a 17 year old student at Central Bucks High School East, set out on an ambitious project to raise funds for a Memorial Scholarship Fund in memory of Brandon, for her high school graduation project. The Doylestown Lions Club has once again volunteered to assist and co-ordinate this project . The proceeds from the 2nd annual 5K-race/walk will benefit the scholarship fund established in Brandon’s name. On February 2, 2005, Brandon lost a ten-month battle to overcome catastrophic injuries sustained in an auto accident. The accident was during the spring of his senior year while on his way to a Central Bucks High School East Men’s Lacrosse game. Brandon was accepted to and had planned to attend Johns Hopkins University as a Pre-med major and play football for the Blue Jays. Brandon was a very special person who will always have a place in our hearts and in the hearts of the many who knew and loved him. He was an amazing person with a great personality and a smile that would light up the room. An excellent student and athlete who always strived to do his best, Brandon truly possessed an indomitable spirit. As his sister, Courtney is proud of all the things that he accomplished. Brandon was a role model to both his sisters, Courtney and Samantha and many others. In Brandon’s memory Courtney organized the initial 5K-race/walk, conducted October 7, 2006, to raise money for the Brandon W. Boger Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded to several seniors at Central Bucks East High School that possess the same exemplary qualities and characteristics as Brandon. Courtney's initial goal was to raise $20,000 to be added to the scholarship fund so that the account continues to grow and will soon become a perpetual amount that can benefit many Central Bucks East Senior students in the future. Last year over 1,100 people particiapted in the first 5K helping to surpass the goal and raised in excess of $100,000! The Brandon W. Boger Memorial Scholarship Fund is administered by the Bucks County Foundation, a 501(c) (3) non-profit charitable organization.
