Why Am I Doing This Again?
I blame David Boninger, another Executive Committee Member of the National Spinal Cord Injury Association (NSCIA) and my wife, who is very convincing, for why I am running the Big Sur Marathon on April 26th to raise money for NSCIA. I was still recovering from running the Marine Corp Marathon in Washington, DC when this was suggested. My response was similar to when my wife suggested we have another child as I was going out of my mined dealing with our new 10 month old. This time, the two convincing arguments were that the Big Sur is one of the most beautiful places in the world to run and that NSCIA is in great financial need to carry out its mission. We need your help to keep our resource center open to provide information and referrals to people with disabilities and their families. There are so many questions, decisions and major mistakes people can make, without the proper information and support. NSCIA needs your help to be there when people seek our help. Thank you for your consideration in this worthy cause.
Members of Team NSCIA have made a personal commitment to run, or roll, to raise funds that will allow the National Spinal Cord Injury Association (NSCIA) to continue to fulfill our mission of enabling people with spinal cord injury and disease (SCI/D) to achieve their highest level of independence, health, and personal fulfillment by providing resources, services, and peer support. Thank you for your generous support.
NSCIA Executive Committee Member, Chair
