Welcome, and Thank You for visiting the Team George Fundraising Page! On October 10, 2009 I will be running in the Baltimore Marathon, a full 26.2 miles from start to finish. In addition to dedicating myself for the physical preparation for the race, I have committed to raising funds for the Lorenzen Cancer Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness, increasing education and furthering pancreatic cancer research. I would like to ask for your support in helping to support this great cause. Pancreatic Cancer will cause more than 35,000 deaths this year, yet remains the least funded in terms of research. Beyond the mission of Lorenzen Cancer Foundation, I am running in memory of my father, Greg, who in April 2009 was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. After a five month fight with Pancreatic Cancer, Greg passed away on September 17, 2009. It is with hope in our fight against this disease that I run this race for him and for all those afflicted.Every dollar that I raise for the Pancreatica Walks and Runs Program will go directly to the Lorenzen Cancer Foundation, and of course, your contribution is tax-deductable. I’ve personally committed to raising $2,620, $100 per mile. I hope that you can support me in this important event and I would like to convey my appreciation for your support! |
