For the past five years, with the help of generous friends and family like you, I have raised over $12,000 for BORP and the disabled athletes that BORP serves.
BORP (Bay Area Outreach & Recreation Program) fosters the health, independence, and social integration of people with disabilities through sport, fitness, and recreation. With sports like wheelchair basketball and power soccer, adaptive cycling and outdoor recreation, our youth and adult participants develop positive body images, establish healthy living habits, gain independence, and take responsibility not only for the success of our programs, but also for their own success in life.
BORP is a wonderful organization that I not only work for, but I also take part in some of the programs they have to offer disabled individuals like myself. I encourage you to visit BORP's website to learn more about what BORP does.
Last year, along with my friends from Team Alameda, we raised over $11,000 for BORP! We came in a very close 2nd place for the "Team Prize" category (there is no prize for 2nd!). This year, I'm hoping more people will join myself and members from Team Alameda (Alameda's premier cycling club) in raising money for BORP. I've set my goal pretty high at $20,000. But I think we can do it and we can get that top prize this year!
