After 11+ years in our Bicycle Recycling &Youth Training Center at 59 Amory St. in Roxbury, BNB had to move, as our building was slated to be redeveloped for "luxury storefronts."

Moving presented us with many opportunities and challenges. Bikes Not Bombs had the chance to create a new, bigger, more energy efficient center, specifically designed to support our long-term community building work. We signed a lease on a great site in Jamaica Plain for most of our youth programming, and a lease for a second site in Jamaica Plain, for a new BNB Bike Shop. The Shop space (now open!) holds part of the processing of bikes destined for programs overseas, and an expanded teen vocational training program/bike shop.

BUT the move and build-out of the new spaces will cost BNB at least $550,000 by the time we are done. Please contribute to our Building Fund!

Bikes Not Bombs is completely committed to keeping all our programs going during the move (which we accomplished!) and all the related transitions in 2007.
