Thank you for all that you have done for the All Stars Project and our young people. 2008 has been a year of significant growth for the All Stars. I want to let you know that your investment in All Stars is doing well and we need your continued financial support.
It is very meaningful that you make All Stars a priority, invest in development and make our programs available to more kids. Our commitment has been to be there for inner-city youth – through good times and bad – ensuring that they have their chance at a more developed and growthful life.
Here are some recent highlights:
Over 1,000 young people produced and performed in the All Stars Talent Show at Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn on November 22.
• In October, All Stars co-hosted an international conference at its headquarters where 500 people from 28 countries and 22 states participated, who use performance to build community.
• The Development School for Youth and its business partners found 225 paid summer internships for all of the graduates.
• In October, Young Leaders for Change kicked-off its year-end campaign by honoring 9 youth leaders who are giving back!
• Youth Onstage! is currently producing the first Young Playwrights from Castillo festival, five new plays written and performed by young people in YO!.
Inner-city young people have never before had this kind of new and expanding community that supports and encourages their development. In addition, all of this is possible because of the privately funded partnership across America which supporters like you anchor.
This is an important time to invest in our young people.
