| GIVE A HOLIDAY GIFT TO INNER-CITY YOUTH |
|
Happy Holidays! This year, the All Stars Project has continued to be a leader in the field of afterschool programming. This year, we have worked with over 10,000 young people in New York City, Newark, Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Our mission is to create developmental and performance-based opportunities for inner-city young people -- because you can't learn without development!
We’ve been able to increase programming and involvement with the generous support of thousands of individuals who give to the All Stars. We are 100% privately funded, so you make our programs possible! Thank you!
During this holiday season, we are hoping to reach the ambitious goal of raising $7.1 million nationally this year. We need your help to get there! Please help us finish the year strong and allow us to go into 2011 with the resources we need to support our young people and programs! Please give generously.
Some of our 2010 accomplishments include:
• We have launched a new initiative, UX, which is a free, grassroots school that is open to people of all ages. Over 600 people attended our Opening Day event at our 42nd Street headquarters to learn how they can be involved.
• Our Development School for Youth program had our largest summer class of interns to date, placing over 250 students in paid summer internships at corporations in New York, New Jersey, Chicago and San Francisco.
• The All Stars hosted an international conference called Performing the World, which brought together 461 people from 39 different countries, all of whom wanted to learn from our model of performance and human development.
• In November, the All Stars hosted our annual Phyllis Hyman Phat Friends Awards Ceremony, in which All Stars young people honored adults who they believe are making a difference in their community! Among the awardees was Susan Benedetto, founder of the Frank Sinatra School in NYC – and her husband, Tony Bennett, attended the event and enjoyed meeting our young people!
Each week and month, All Stars continues to provide enriching and impactful programs and opportunities for some of the country’s poorest youth. With your support, we will be able to continue to grow. Thank you for your generosity.
