Tell the Story of True Freedom Fighters
Lest we forget
Even while George Washington held slaves, 5,000 Men of African descent soldiers fought for independence in the American Revolution. Without the right to citizenship, over 209,000 "colored troops" fought for freedom in the Civil War. Their sacrifice, was largely ignored, marginalized, and forgotten by society's institutions. Through living history, the 6th Regiment Infantry US Colored Troops, Reenactors (6th USCT) revives the memory of this proud national and cultural heritage. portraying the historic 6th USCT in the Civil War, and the1st Rhode Island Regiment of Foot, in the American Revolution. To bring living history authentically and to widest audience requires funds for the time, equipment, and supplies that our volunteers use as they travel to do presentations, exhibits, and reenactments. We need your help to tell the story of True Freedom Fighters. The 6th USCT are a 501 (c)(3), nonprofit organization.
