Luke's Skywalkers
We miss you, big guy ♥
On September 10, 2012, we experienced the tragic loss of our first and only son Luke due to a cord accident at 39 weeks. There is nothing in the world that can prepare you for that experience, but the OC Walk to Remember provided us comforting care and supplies in the hospital during a time when we had no idea what to expect or how to deal with what was happening.

We wish that nobody would ever have to experience feelings like this, but hope that if they do, they will receive similar comfort and support. A donation in Luke's name will add to his legacy in our hearts and give his brief life meaning. We wish things could be different, but are so thankful for this organization and all it does for the baby-loss community.

Funds from OC Walk to Remember go toward:

*Purchasing memory boxes so parents forever have memories of their lost child.

*Providing bereavement training for nurses, so they are better able to help parents who are experiencing a loss.

*Establishing libraries of bereavement books at all local hospitals.

*Supplying hospitals with a camera and photo printer, so parents have photos of their child.

*Providing music therapy for mothers who are carrying a terminally ill baby.

*Allowing support groups to hold reunions, buy Mother's Day gifts for moms who have lost a child, purchase books and supplies, and more

*Supporting parents who have lost a baby by operating a phone line and email account to give them referrals to support groups, therapists or to put them in touch with other parents who have had a similar loss

In 2012 the OC Walk to Remember distributed 10,000 brochures into the community in hopes that any parent who has lost a baby will know where to turn for help

Thank you for any donation, no matter how small! We would also love for you to join us in walking with Luke's Skywalkers at the OC Walk to Remember on October 5 (you can register for that now, online HERE, but any monetary donation you can make to support these needs would help immensely.
