Youth Tennis Advantage honors Arthur Ashe's vision of using tennis as a vehicle to profoundly enrich the lives of inner city kids who face various challenges and issues related to poverty.
The YTA mission is "serving youth in inner city communities through a comprehensive program of tennis and academic tutoring that promotes the physical, educational, and life skills necessary to prepare and empower them for leadership in their communities, and success in their personal lives."
YTA has provided free after school tennis, academic enrichment and life skills programs for inner city children from impoverished communities for over 50 years.
Our 2010 Scholar Athlete Programs will stimulate new excitement in participants who strive to become exceptional student athletes. Not only will youth learn a fun and healthy lifetime sport, but YTA will be emphasizing team play and refocusing on youth leadership through leagues, tournaments and the YTA Ball Kid Team. Many interesting College Pathway Workshops are planned in 2010. Topics include goal setting, time managment, test taking and lots more.
