Our Cause:
The proceeds from this year's run will be going toward the Doc Shaffer Memorial Fund to provide scholarship assistance for underprivileged children who otherwise would not be able to attend camp to come. A portion will also go towards the construction of a new high ropes challenge course for the Ranch's Outdoor Education program. We are truly thankful for your support in helping to impact students in the mid-Atlantic region.
The Doc Shaffer Memorial Fund:
This race is also held in honor of Dr. Steven Shaffer, who volunteered countless hours and had an immeasurable impact as the medical director of River Valley Ranch. In recent years he led the fundraising efforts to build our new Health Center. His desire was to see children and young adults pursue a healthy lifestyle and to support the youth summer camp programs at River Valley Ranch. |
