About the Event
The Young Committee which supports The Alzheimer's Association Houston and Southeast Chapter,
was established in 2006 by a group of young
professionals wanting to increase awareness and support of the Alzheimer's disease in the
Houston area.
Each spring, the group hosts an annual Powder Puff football game to raise funds benefiting the
Alzheimer's Association. In 2008, with kind
donations of family and friends, the 100+ young men and women raised over $90,000 for the cause.
About the Alzheimer's Association
The Alzheimer's Association Houston and Southeast Texas consists of families, caregivers,
scientists, health professionals, and concerned
citizens who are committed to finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease and to easing the burden of
Alzheimer's disease and related disorders on
patients and their families and loved ones. The Chapter serves thousands of local families in
Houston and 37 surrounding counties.
The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the
advancement of research; to provide and enhance
care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of
brain health. To learn more about Alzheimer’s
disease or the Chapter, visit www.alz.org/texas.
