| 2009 Chicago 5K Lung Run |
|
| Join us on September 12, 2009 for the Chicago 5K Lung Run and make a difference in the fight against lung cancer. The Chicago 5K Lung Run raises awareness of lung cancer, the leading cancer killer in the U.S., and raises much-needed funds for lung cancer research. Be part of the solution: your support will help fund important research for the world’s most lethal disease. Approximately 19 Americans die of lung cancer every hour. More than 25,000 of these victims have never smoked, and these cases are on the rise. Despite these startling statistics, lung cancer remains grossly underfunded – receiving only a small fraction of the research dollars that other major diseases receive. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Lung Oncologists Group in Chicago (LOGIC), a consortium of Chicago-based oncologists conducting cutting-edge lung cancer research, and lung cancer research through the Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago. |
