Gift of Life Minority Organ Tissue Transplant Education Program (MOTTEP) will host its 11th Annual LIFE Walk and Fun Run on Saturday, July 26, 2008, at Belle Isle in Detroit. LIFE Walk is a family, friend, and fundraising event aimed at promoting the importance of organ and tissue donation. Our Honorary Chairs, Diana, Glenda, and Donna Lewis, will again highlight donor families, organ and tissue recipients, living donors, and those awaiting transplants to share the message of “Extending life through organ and tissue donation…one step at a time.”
Gift of Life MOTTEP is a non-profit, educational program dedicated to extending the life of our community through programs designed to promote increasing awareness about the critical need for organ and tissue donation, encourage healthy living, and eliminate ethnic health disparities. LIFE Walk helps us accomplish all of this and more. Over 800 people attended, 200 people were screened and approximately 100 signed the up on the donor registry. Gift of Life MOTTEP received two national awards and one state award for increasing minority donation rates. We need your help to continue making a difference!
By supporting this year’s LIFE Walk, your organization can help Gift of Life MOTTEP save lives. Your contribution will not only help educate the community about organ and tissue donation, but it will also encourage people to embrace healthy living and empower them to make decisions that will enhance the long-term health of our community.
We hope you will join us for this fun-filled activity that promises to inform, involve, and inspire our community.
