Big Climb for Leukemia

Hello Family and Friends!

I will be participating in the 22nd Annual Big Climb for Leukemia on Sunday, March 16.

The event is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s most challenging event - and a complete quad burner! Last March, over 4,200 people climbed the stairs at the Columbia Center in downtown Seattle, the state’s tallest skyscraper, and raised over $700,000. The 69-flight course includes 1,311 steps, 19 steps per flight and 788 feet of vertical elevation.

I will have the choice of either running the stairs and being timed or walking the stairs at my own pace. Right now, the plan is to walk up, but if my training goes well this week maybe I'll run up!

In addition to a challenging workout, the Big Climb gives me the opportunity to fight leukemia. Leukemia, a cancer of the body’s blood-forming organs, is the leading disease killer of children; yet for every child diagnosed, ten adults face this disease. Thanks to research supported by contributions to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, survival rates in both adult and childhood leukemia have dramatically improved.

Please consider supporting me as I climb all those stairs in an effort to fight blood cancers. No donation is too small. Thank you!
