Cheyenne Age 7 blood disorder

As most of you know, our son Scott was diagnosed in January with cancer and is currently battling leukemia. In that instant, our life changed completely when the doctor told us what Scott had. This experience has taught our entire family about what children with cancer and blood disorders go through. The length of treatment Scott will have to endure is two plus years. That’s more than 730 days of endless needles, prescriptions, drugs and procedures. Not to mention the side effects (mental and physical) and the cumulative stress upon all involved. It simply boggles one’s mind. No child should ever have to go through this, but far too many families are faced with such a reality.

The Children's Dream Fund, a local non-profit group, grants dreams to children battling serious illnesses. Each year, they raise money for the dreams by hosting an annual Golf Marathon. This year’s golf marathon, on October 8, will mark their 13th year. In honor of our son, Scott, I have committed to participate in the Golf Marathon and play golf from sunrise to sunset on October 8th.

I will be raising dollars to put towards making a dream come true for a sweet, little 7-year-old girl, Cheyenne from Kathleen, Florida. Cheyenne is battling a blood disorder and her dream is to go to a village in Kissimmee called “Give Kids the World.” Cheyenne and her family will be given a 7-day stay at the village, and will receive passes to all the local theme parks. The village has a movie theater, a large swimming pool, an arcade, a lake full of fish, an ice cream parlor open 24 hours a day and much more. Stop by www.gktw.org for more information about this wonderful facility. The way I see it, someone somewhere will fund Scott's Dream when he’s physically able to enjoy it. If all I need to do is play golf at a manic pace from sunrise to sunset for one day to make Cheyenne’s Dream a reality - that seems a very small amount of effort to return the favor.

Please help me raise enough money for Cheyenne’s dream to come true by donating to The Children’s Dream Fund. Donations of ANY size will help create some sunshine for Cheyenne during the storm. If you’d prefer to donate by cash or check, I can email you a pledge form, and the Dream Fund will send a bill to you at home. Please note the online donations refer to flat pledge amounts. Any per-hole pledges need to be done with the pledge sheet.

Feel free to use the link below to email any friends, coworkers or family members you think would like to support this endeavor.

My family and I thank you for your thoughts, prayers and good wishes for Scott’s full recovery, as well as Cheyenne’s and all the children faced with this dreadful disease.

Sincerely,

David Walker
