What's Included

Prerequisite: Metals I In this 8 hour workshop, veteran metalsmith Travis Ogden will show you how to use flat metal to design and create unique 3-D forms that are useful as earrings, pendants and brooches. Create your own pattern or use an existing one. The metal will be shaped with basic jewelry pliers and spot soldered for strength. This is a unique way to create dimensional pieces that can be used inside or on top of Sterling silver, sweat soldered or riveted on, or to enamel on if using copper. The possibilities of creating exciting and unique jewelry using the techniques learned in this workshop are virtually endless! This workshop is the prerequisite for Fold Forming 201, where students will work on making a folded cuff.
