Tuesdays, Feb 21, 28, Mar 7, 14, 2017 Instructor: Darlene Armstrong or Tori Rushing Prerequisite: Metalsmithing I Class Limit: 10 Class Duration: 30 Hours In this class, students will build on previously learned skills from Metalsmithing I and enhance their jewelry making abilities by learning how to make a 5-6 cabochon stone bracelet with a handmade toggle clasp, logo tag and a textured ring band with a cabochon stone. New techniques that will be learned are making jump rings, sawing, drilling, ring forming and soldering, working with tubing, making a toggle clasp, practice making bezels to set various shaped cabochons, practice setting several stones, with an emphasis on modern professional finishing techniques. Upon completion of this class students will be awarded a certificate of completion of 30 hours class time, as well as extensive step by step handouts for each project and a free 4 hour open studio card.
