Learn fencing basics - advance, retreat, lunge, point in line, four basic parries, simple attacks, use of distance, fencing measure, rules of play, and basic strategy. Class consists of warm-up games, stretching, footwork and fencing drills along with bouting practice against other class members. Please bring a new (not worn on the street) pair of thin soled gym shoes to use for fencing. T-shirt and long workout pants needed. Water bottle recommended. Instructor Sabine Harmann has been fencing since 1980 and began teaching in 2001.
