Hustle For Hearing is put on by the local Student Academy of Audiology - NIU chapter to raise awareness of hearing loss. This 5k run/walk is a fun experience for all ages! RAMP is a non-profit, non-residential Center for Independent Living (CIL) to promote an accessible society that allows and expects full participation by people with disabilities, including those who are Deaf and Hard-of-hearing. RAMP empowers people to live independent lives by assisting to live independently, making changes in their own lives, seeking peer support, obtaining resources, and removing barriers that threaten their dreams of independence. RAMP advocates for the implementation of current laws, promotion of needed legislation and improvement of existing systems for persons with disabilities while working to diminish negative attitudes that threaten to impede equal access.
