Blessing and Costume Contest

8:30 Ecumenical blessing of animals. 8:40 PET PARADE & COSTUME CONTEST


9:00 DOG JOG - race/walk. Race will proceed in three groups, runners, runners with pets, all walkers

9:30 LAP UP Pav. #1

9:30 LAP UP BEGINS in Pavilion #1. Wrap up with complimentary beverages and treats for persons and pets. Enjoy demonstrations from law enforcement dogs and retriever dogs, plus doggie games.

FIDO SCURRY celebrates the unique human-animal bond and the events designed for pet/person participation. FIDO SCURRY benefits the Decatur & Macon County Animal Shelter Foundation and Decatur Park District’s Fido Fields. The Decatur Running Club will assist with set up and officiate at the FIDO SCURRY. PRIZES Prizes for overall run winners, and medals for female & male runners, in several categories, with & without pet partners, will be awarded. There will also be prize presentations for the winners of the contests and doggie games. Pet & people costumes are encouraged, but not required, for the Pet Parade. This year’s theme is A Royal Court. Outfit your pet, and yourself if you wish, as your favorite prince, princess, knight in shining armor or court jester! Prizes will be awarded for various categories of costumes for pets and people, including best pet/person duo. DRC run points will be awarded to all runners.
