Did you know that children's rhymes, songs, and games can help with oral language acquisition? During this summer camp, students will experience many literacy components such as syllabication, phonics, rhyming, and use pictures and context clues to decode new vocabulary. Using speech as the basis of rhythm, we will create our own rhymes to share. We will be playing games, using instruments, and patterned text from children's songs and poems, allowing students to actively "do music" while gaining stronger literacy skills. The camp will culminate in the sharing of a musical performance by the students. Join MVS teacher Kristy Morrow for some music this summer! This camp will be held at the Early Childhood Center Campus.
