Come improve your jazz skills, or try out playing jazz, blues, funk, and Latin music for the first time. We will work on creating grooves, improvising, sight reading, and playing with good sound quality and group awareness. Activities will include big bands, group warm-ups, improvisation workshops, sectional rehearsals, listening sessions, music games, and non-musical games in Willard Park. Campers will be split into ensembles according to skill level. Final concert Friday, June 22 at 3pm. Instructors: Nancy Boyles and Michael Hammond from King Middle School, and Sarah Cline, the Jazz Director at Berkeley High.
