Gregg Ellis, ultra runner and recovering addict will be running on a treadmill for 48 hours. He will be attempting to break a Guinness world record by running 63.01 miles in 12 hours and 251.79 miles in 48 hours. The event is to raise money for Carter Hope Center a local non profit residental alcohol and drug treatment center in Dalton. We want to encourage the community to participate by cycling, running, walking, spinning, and using the ellipitcal with Gregg during this event. The event will be held at the Peak Fitness Center here in Dalton. Bear Creek Bicycle Company and the Dalton Area Cyclist will be organizing some cycling events as well. There will be activities for children and education regarding the disease of addiction. For the $25 fee you will be able to use the Peak facilities during the 48 hours of the event. You will receive an event tech shirt and a goody bag as well. You may run, walk, spin and participate in the cycling events as much as you want during that time frame. We have Awards for the person who runs the most miles with Gregg during the event , also we will have an award for the team with the most participants during the event and an award for the team that logs the most miles during the event.
Our goal is to raise money for Carter Hope Center, the residential treatment center, educate the public about addiction, and raise awareness about addiction in our community.

The event will start at 5pm on Friday June 21, 2013 and end at 5pm on Sunday June 23, 2013. The times for the cycling events will be posted on our web page www.48hoursofhope.com.
