"This class is geared towards beginning to intermediate lampworkers, from those who have never worked with glass to those wanting to improve their skills. For those just beginning – they will learn safety, tools and equipment for lampworking, types of glass and initially how to make a round bead. From there they will work on other shapes of beads, decorations (frit, powders, dots, etc.) and as they progress will work into more complicated beads and shapes (i.e. encasement, fish). There is not a set timeline for each step as every student works at a different pace. For those with some experience – they will work on expanding their skills and work on bead shapes, decorations, etc., that they are interested in learning. Note: This class involves working with a table mounted torch (open flame). There will be no class on Jan. 17th."
