Additional Information
The Autumn Classic will support Chesapeake College students through funding: (1.) Need-based scholarships. Chesapeake College serves five counties on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Of the almost 3000 students admitted each year, many are first-generation college students, and over 48% receive some sort of financial aid. (2.) Academic Honors scholarships. The Honors program offers innovative learning experiences for motivated students who aspire to excel in the classroom and transfer to four-year schools. (3.) Skipjack athletics programs. Our athletes continue to develop a tradition of local excellence, including a 2005 appearance in the NJCAA World Series for baseball, the 2009 Region X softball title, and the 2012 State Title for women’s basketball (including a 7th place national finish). Our students and our student athletes work very hard for their successes both in and out of the classroom, and as a community, we want to support them with this event.
