The STIHL Tour des Trees is the signature fundraising event of the TREE Fund, a 501(c)3 foundation providing funding for scholarships, research and educational programs in arboriculture and urban forestry.
The 2011 Tour kicks off with a 30-mile, 1-day Ride for Research in Virginia Beach, VA October 2, then heads west to Williamsburg, Richmond, Charlottesville and the Appalachians. 7 days and 500 miles later the Tour concludes with a triumphant entrance into Washington DC on October 8. It’s a week of cycling, scenery, public outreach and fun in the company of the "Family TREE".
Full-Tour riders commit to raising a minimum of $3,500 by October 31 to support tree research and education. Partial-Tour riders may opt to join the Tour en route, with a fundraising commitment of $600 per day. Entrance fee for the October 2 Ride for Research only is $75. (Full-Tour registration fee includes October 2 Ride for Research).
