Brief Description

The Ride Around Puget Sound (RAPSody) will be approximately 170 miles with the challenge of glacial undulations combined with the beauty of Puget Sound. It is a 2-day ride with the overnight stop in Shelton. Sorry, but we are no longer offering the 1-day option as 90% of the past riders opted to ride RAPSody in 2-days. The route starts in Tacoma and goes counter-clockwise across the new Tacoma Narrows Bridge, through Gig Harbor, Pt. Orchard, Shelton, and Olympia before returning to Tacoma.

What's Included?

Rest stops, mechanical support, luggage transport, camping outdoors, in the gym, or RV dry camp at Shelton High School, showers at the high school and finish line (bring own towel), souvenir socks (register early to guarantee), map, great scenery, and lots of music.

RAPSody is hosted by B.I.K.E.S. of Snohomish County, Capital Bicycle Club, Cyclists of Greater Seattle, Tacoma Wheelmen's Bicycle Club, and West Sound Cycling Club

Ride Proceeds

All registration proceeds will be donated to the Bicycle Alliance of Washington.

Registration:$85 until 7/26, then $95 until 8/19. Bicycle Alliance members receive a $10 discount. Join today and receive an immediate discount!

Registration Transfers & Refund Information

Registrations can be transferred to others provided the original purchaser contacts the Registrar and a signed release for the transferee is mailed and received by the Registrar before the ride. Sorry, there are are no refunds.

Packets

Packets will be emailed approximately 2 weeks before the ride so be sure to notify the Registrar if you change your email address. Bib numbers, socks, jerseys, and other items will be distributed at the start table. Jerseys ordered after 6/29 will be mailed.

Jerseys

You can order either Men's/Unisex or Women's in various sizes. These are quality jerseys. Check the RAPSody website for the design. Orders placed by 6/29 cost $60 and will be distributed at the start desk. Orders placed after 6/29 will cost $70 and be mailed following the ride.

Start/Finish

The start/finish is at Tacoma Community College. Enter off of S. 12th St. just east of S. Mildred St. Parking is free and patrolled by campus security.

Start Time

Riders depart between 6:00 AM and 8:30 AM on Saturday, 8/27 with course closure at 5 PM each day.

Helmet Information

SNELL OR ANSI APPROVED HELMETS ARE REQUIRED ON THIS RIDE.
