Description
The duathlon is a standard duathlon format starting with a two mile run on shaded Bayou Paul Road followed by a 16 mile bike course that winds its way around shaded, scenic Bayou Paul/Alligator Bayou rural streets. The second run portion will be the same course as the first finishing at the park. There will be prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers as well as prizes three deep in each age group category.
The cycling event will be a leisurely ride along the 13.5 mile Alligator Bayou course with four stops along the route. Each stop will have a card similar to a bingo card for riders to fill in two blanks with their name for a total of eight squares per rider. At the end of the ride, the cards will be posted and a lottery drawing will determine the winning square. The winning rider will receive a new Specialized Carbon Road Bike or equivalent value in bicycle gear.
Event schedule and times
The duathlon will have a mass start promptly at 8am. The cycling bingo run will begin approximately thirty minutes after the last runner comes across the finish line to allow event attandees the chance to participate in both events.
