Brief Description

The CLINTON RIVER RIDERS extend our invitation to you and your family to join our Fall Classic. It is one of the largest one-day international bicycle tours in North America. Riders will enjoy the majesty of fall colors along side the beautiful St. Clair River. Passing ocean freighters and Great Lakes ore carriers offer a view guaranteed to please cyclists of all ages.

REGISTRATION AND FEE INFORMATION

Participation is limited to the first 1200 riders. THERE IS NO DAY OF RIDE REGISTRATION. Fees are as follows and must be paid in U.S. funds. Registration deadline is 9/18/2010.

IMPORTANT RIDE INFORMATION

The 29th annual Blue Water Ramble Bicycle Tour will take place rain or shine. The ride will begin at St.Clair High School at 2200 Clinton Road in St. Clair, Michigan.

4 FULLY SAGGED ROUTES

The routes include distances of 30, 45, 65 and 100 miles each. The 30 mile route is designed for those who want less miles and less traffic. Some of the 30 mile route will be on paved trail. The 30 and 65 mile routes are in the U.S ONLY. Riders on the 45 and 100 mile routes have the option to ride in Canada. Riders who opt to go to Canada will enjoy transportation across the St. Clair River by commercial ferry. You will receive tickets for the crossing at the US departure point .

RIDE TIMES

Packet pick up and all routes open at 7:00 am and close at 6:00 pm. All cyclists riding the 100 mile routes must start no later than 9:00 am. All other cyclists must start no later than 10:30 am. Sag wagons will be available to assist riders on all routes during the day and will make a final sweep of all routes at 5:00 pm.

LUNCH AND REST STOPS

Each rest stop will include food, drink, restrooms and assistance if needed. The main rest stop will be in the U.S. where a hot lunch will be served. All rest stops and the high school will close at 5:00 p.m.

HOT SHOWERS

Available after the ride at the high school. Bring your own soap and towels.

SHIRTS

Our shirts this year will be a black long sleeve t-shirt , black short sleeve t-shirt and hot pink short sleeve t-shirt. All 3 shirt styles will be high quality with the design screenprinted on the front of the shirt.

USA/CANADA BORDER CROSSING INFORMATION

A passport or Michigan Enhanced Drivers License is now REQUIRED by U.S. and Canadian Customs. A birth certificate, baptismal record, voter registration card or "NORMAL" driver license are NOT proof of citizenship. If you plan to ride in Canada, and you provide us with your legal name, date of birth, citizenship, and passport or EDL number for U.S. CUSTOMS , the process of re-entry into the U.S. can be sped up considerably!

USA/CANADA BORDER CROSSING INFORMATION (cont.)

All minors (under 18 years old) must be accompanied by an adult in order to enter Canada and clear customs. Please obey all Ontario traffic laws while riding in Canada. You should allow up to 45 minutes for each border crossing. If you are going to have a nuclear (radiation) medical procedure within 5 weeks of the ride, please let us know. There may be radiation detectors at the border crossings.

NO REFUNDS

If you cannot participate in the ride, you may have your shirt mailed to you. Send $5 per item for postage and handling to the Clinton River Riders NO LATER than December 31, 2010.

Additional Information

SAFETY GUIDELINES
The staff of the BLUE WATER RAMBLE and the Clinton River Riders are very concerned for your safety. We ask that you and your family abide by the following safety guidelines:
-The use of an ANSI or Snell approved bicycle helmet is required. Riding without a helmet on the BLUE WATER RAMBLE will cause you to be asked to leave our ride.
-Share the road. Michigan law requires you to ride no more than two abreast and as near to the right side of the road as practical. Canadian law allows you to ride single file ONLY.
-Obey all stop signs and traffic signals. The police will stop and ticket you for breaking the law. DO NOT OBSTRUCT TRAFFIC!!
-Headphones are prohibited. They may block out the sound of an approaching vehicle.
