6:30 - 8:30 a.m. Pancake Breakfast at Century venue pay $5 at the door.

8:30 a.m. - 25 mile riders start
These starting times are only suggestions. Riders can start whenever they want. Riders should keep their own ride times.

Starting times for One-Way Rides starting from the Food-Stops are shown on the Route Map in your ride kit.
12:30 - 5:00 p.m. - Lunch. Pre-paid $6 w/ your registration. Later in the afternoon & if the food lasts, a few lunches can be paid at the door.
5:30 p.m. - Routes swept for remaining riders

Santa Fe has a wide price range of accommodations. In addition to local hotels, all of the national chains have motels in Santa Fe. Registration

Registration received after May 3rd will incur a $5 late fee. However, you may register at the Century venue before the ride on either Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
A Confirmation Receipt w/ your Ride Number will be mailed to all pre-registered riders. You must bring the Confirmation Receipt w/ you to the registration area to pick up your ride kit. Ride Kit contains a Santa Fe Century Water Bottle, rider number, & route maps.

If you ordered a Santa Fe Century T-shirt, it will be with your ride kit. Ride kits can be picked up on either Saturday evening or Sunday morning.


Course & Routes

Course- All rides start from the Century venue at Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical Center (corner of St. Michael's Dr. & Hospital Dr.) in Santa Fe. Ride Kits have detailed route maps with ride instructions and mileages to the Food-Stops. All routes are carefully marked with signs along the entire distance.

Century Loop- This is a medium difficult Century with rollers, ascents and descents, but with a major stretch of flats and easy rollers.

Half-Century Loop- This 50 mile loop is more difficult than the 50 mile "Out & Back" ride.

Other Rides- Out & Back: 25, 50, & 75 miles "out & back" to Eldorado, Galisteo, and Stanley respectively. One-Way: Starting from the Food-Stops: 79 miles from Madrid, 66 miles from Heart Break, 56 miles from Cedar Grove, 47 miles from Stanley, 25 miles from Galisteo. There is no transportation from the Century venue for the One-Way rides. You're on your own to get there.

Support

SAG Wagons patrol the routes to help the riders. In addition, volunteer mechanics will help with repairs, small parts, tires & tubes at the Food-Stops. In case of injury, medical assistance is available from the fire districts along the routes. Phone 911.

There are 6 FOOD-STOPS w/ snacks, fresh fruit, energy drink, & water staffed by Volunteers at Madrid (25 miles), Heart Break Hill (38 miles), Cedar Grove (48 miles), Stanley (62 miles/75 mile turn around), Galisteo (80 miles / 50 mile turn around), and Eldorado (92 miles / 25 mile turn around).


Equipment

A multiple-gear bicycle in good working condition with a good low gear of 34" or less for all but the strongest riders. Spare tube & patch kit, pump, & basic tools are recommended.
ANSI approved helmets are mandatory.


Personal Items

Water bottles, sunscreen, lip-balm, sun glasses, long sleeve shirt, wind breaker. There are 6 FOOD-STOPS with fresh fruit, snacks, water, and energy drink. The route is very rural & what stores there are may not to be open.


Meals (at Century venue)

Prepared by Aramark Food Sevices (St. John's College).
Pancake Breakfast: Sunday morning 6:30-8:30 a.m. Traditional New Mexico blue corn & roast pinon nut pancakes w/ hot maple syrup, sausages, juice, coffee or herb tea. Cost: $5 paid at the door. To help the volunteers plan breakfast, please mark your Registration "YES" if you are coming to breakfast.

Lunch: Sunday afternoon 12:30-5:00 p.m. Mild Chili Con Carne with corn bread & crackers. Pasta with marinara sauce. Tossed salad, tomato slices, fruit, beverages, and desert. Cost: $6 paid in advance w/ registration.


T-shirts

Santa Fe Century T-shirts are 100% cotton Hanes BEEFY T-shirts with multi-colored art work on the back & the Century logo and date are on the left front. Long sleeves, Heathered Ash color. Short sleeves, Daffodil color.

T-shirts must be ordered & paid in advance w/ your registration before May 3rd. However, for an increase in price, a limited quantity of T-shirts can be purchased at the Century venue Sunday after 1 pm.


Ride Numbers

Ride numbers must be worn to receive Sag-Wagon support & service at the FOOD-STOPS along the route.

Donation (Optional)



The Santa Fe Century is recognized as a premier cycling event dedicated in part to promoting bicycle safety and health maintenance. The Christus St. Vincent Regional Cancer Center (CSVRCC) actively works with the Century by arranging for the hospital campus to serve as the venue for the event. The CSVRCC offers comprehensive cancer care services to all patients regardless of income or insurance status.

It also supports health maintenance activities, cancer screening, patient education and research that benefit the Northern New Mexico community.To help the Cancer Center carry out its many essential activities, the Century asks you to consider making a donation to the CSVRCC at the time you register for the event. A donation of $10.00 or more is suggested. However, any donation amount will be gratefully appreciated. Donations are not required to ride in the Century.

Additional Information

Come with us on Santa Fe's 25th Annual Century Ride. A hundred miles of history pass under your wheels as you cycle down the ancient Turquoise Trail through the old mining towns of Madrid and Golden, across the mineral rich Ortiz and San Pedro Mountains, across the Estancia Valley through the villages of Cedar Grove and Stanley and on to the very old village of Galisteo, and 100 miles after your start, wheel back into Old Santa Fe. In addition, there is a Half-Century Loop and 25, 50, 75 mile Out & Back rides to Eldorado, Galisteo, and Stanley respectively.

Safety

  • ANSI approved helmets are MANDATORY!
  • The New Mexico State Police, other law enforcement agencies, & the New Mexico National Guard will be out to help the riders.
  • Don't ride more than 2 abreast.
  • It is recommended that each rider carry a large water bottle, spare tube & patch kit, pump, tire changing tools, sun screen, and a windbreaker if the weather happens to be chilly.
  • This is an open course & riders are responsible to observe & obey all traffic laws. Please be courteous to local traffic & drivers.
