Brief Description

This annual Earth Day event starts from the beautiful beaches of Santa Barbara on bike paths and then offers riders their choice in three divisions: Fun Ride, Half Marathon or a challenging metric Century Ride.

AN EARTH DAY FESTIVAL

Celebrate Earth Day in the city where it began - beautiful Santa Barbara. This event offers some of the most picturesque scenery in the country that follows along bike paths on the beach with an optional climb to the highest peak where Lance Armstrong trains.

HOW EVOLVED ARE YOU?

This annual bike event offers three divisions: A Fun Ride along beach bike paths - 5 or 10 miles; a Half Century 50K ride, and a Full Century with a mile of vertical climbing up La Cumbre Peak. Some of this climb is at 10% grade. This is a timed climb starting from the bottom of the hill.

CENTURY RIDE - FULLY EVOLVED - 7 am start

This is a metric Century ride for expert riders only. Starting from the beaches of Santa Barbara we follow the beaches of Montecitio, Summerland and Carpenteria. Then our ride follows up the famous Gibraltar Road known as the Santa Barbara 'Alpe d'Huez' where Lance Armstrong and other professionals have trained. These roads have rarely any vehicular traffic and follow the very top of the mountain for 11 miles. Race for a $1000 cash purse!

HALF MARATHON CRO-MAGNON DIVISION - 50K

This epic ride journeys from beach pathways and through the mansion dotted hills of Montecito. On the return, bike past the historic mission and end this a event for a PERFECT 50K at the famous Earth Day Festival.

5 or 10 mile NEANDERTHAL DIVISION starts at 9am

Celebrate with the the whole family on this FUN RIDE. You have a choice to complete 1 or 2 stages of this ride. It is all along the beach paths running from Santa Barbara to Montecito past some of the most amazing ocean vistas in California on what is inarguably the most beautiful bike trail on the beach. Prizes are awarded for the BEST COSTUMES.
