Additional Information
This year marks the 39th anniversary of the Midnight Madness Fun Bicycle Ride. Starting in 1973 as a tribute to Paul Revere’s Midnight Ride, this landmark San Diego event has grown from a few hundred local riders to over 1,600 participants. Midnight Madness has truly become a renowned family friendly bicycle ride in Southern California. Don't forget to come early because this year is the first where our ride begins at 9pm and is followed by a festival.
Midnight Madness offers one of the most scenic routes for bicyclists anywhere. Cycling around Harbor Island and Shelter Island offers riders unique and spectacular views of downtown San Diego.
And of course the ride wouldn't be the same without the crazy contests!! The Light the Bike and Alaska Airlines Costume Contest brings out the creative and fun side of bicyclists. All riders are welcome to participate in either contest for a chance to win great prizes.
Night of registration will begin at 7pm. The ride begins at 9pm. After the ride there will be vendor booths, music, games, and food until 2am.
The ride starts promptly at 9:00pm from Spanish Landing Park East. Riders will be let out in waves of a few hundred at a time. You must have a helmet and bike light to participate.
