Brief Description

The Xcel Energy TOUR de OCHO MILLAS will feature up to a metric century around the eight mile loop of the Bottomless Lakes State Park. Each cyclist will choose their own goal (8, 16, 24, 32, 40, 48, 56, or 64 miles) while enjoying entertaining power stops along the way. "ChronoTrack" Timing and Results will be provided by CCR Timing.

Registration

EARLY ONLINE Registration $35

Late Registration $45 - (don't be late!)

Participants under 18 yrs - Registration $10 online with an adult registration, or at packet pickup. Parent/guardian must be present at packet pickup.

Check-in

Late registration and packet pick-up will occur on Friday, September 14, 2012 from 5pm to 8pm at the Holiday Inn Express (2300 N. Main). Late Registration, check-in and packet pick-up will continue on Saturday, September 15th at the Bottomless Lakes State Park from 6:30 to 7:30 am.

Souvenirs

All Online registered participants will receive

  • event t-shirt
  • use of a timing chip
  • inclusion in official results

Additional Information

In 1933 the Bottomless Lakes area was set aside as New Mexico's first state park. In the 1960's it was home to "America's most incredible road racing circuit" called Las Ocho Millas. (Road and Track, August 1967)

Course Description
The 8 mile perimeter road features two short steep hills and beautiful vistas of the Pecos Valley and the 9 spring-fed lakes. Check out Map My Ride and fly over the course.
