Brief Description
The Murfreesboro Bicycle Club proudly presents the 11th annual Two County Metric Bicycle Ride. There will be 50k and 100k rides, both SAG supported. An optional unsupported century extension is also available. Put the Two County Metric on your calendar!
Additional Information
The Two County Metric starts from Rockvale Elementary School located approximately 7 miles southwest of Murfreesboro TN on Hwy 99 (New Salem Hwy).
The 62-mile course promises to be challenging, with plenty of rolling hills and all of the beauty that Middle TN has to offer. The beginning of the ride heads towards Eagleville, which is very flat and easy for the first 10 miles. At this point, the ride has a few more hills, but is still without the killer hills. Ride the fully supported 62-mile course and if your legs are still feeling fresh, go for the optional flat loop to make a century! NOTE: The optional loop is not SAG supported. The 62-mile course is supported with two rest stops at about the 20 & 40-mile marker.
The 31-mile course is less challenging, but no less beautiful. If you choose this ride, you will start with the 62-mile riders before splitting off around the 8 mile marker. The 31-mile course will have one rest stop about 2/3 of the way through the ride. Watch out for the Windrow Rd Hill! Both courses end on this road which is short, and fast, and is a great way to end the day.
We will have excellent rest stops for the two courses. There will be fruit, cookies, sandwiches, sports drink and water. If you feel more like a meal or a different snack, there are several stores and restaurants along the routes. See the route sheets for information about both of these options. There will be restroom facilities at all rest stop locations. (port-a-pots)
