Additional Information
Don't miss out on this one time opportunity to ride across The Lavon Lake Dam

Event Info
Join us on Saturday May 15th, 2010 for one of the most fun bike rides you have ever ridden. It's the 7th annual WildRide! Against Cancer Bike Rally -- the ride renowned for its overabundance of food and fun at the Finish and Start! Choose between 16, 40, or 65 scenic miles (route subject to change) and bring the family! This ride, sponsored by the Methodist Richardson Medical Center Foundation, is held in conjunction with the 18th annual Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival in Galatyn Park on May 14th-16th. Wildflower! which was recently named "Best of the Fests" by D Magazine, is the area's premier arts and music festival, drawing more than 50,000 visitors featuring national headliners.
WildRide! Is the only bike ride to allow riders across the long stretch of the beautiful Lavon Lake Dam, closed all other days of the year! Enjoy rolling hills and scenic byways through small north Texas towns that open their arms to this annual event.
For the second year in a row, we are holding a 5K Trail Walk (Non-timed Fun Run/Walk) which will take place on the Trails at Spring Creek Nature Area. (Same Start/Finish area as bike rally)
In addition to riding and walking, you can become a sponsor, volunteer, make a donation or purchase a raffle ticket. This one-day event is expected to draw 2,000 cyclists to Richardson and the North Texas area.
Who Benefits
All net proceeds of WildRide! benefit the Methodist Richardson Cancer Center, home of the Lance Armstrong Shaped Beam Surgery™ Program. The Cancer Center, which is affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center, offers an array of diagnostic equipment, new drug therapies as a part of clinical research programs and numerous treatment options. Patients in Richardson and surrounding North Texas Communities can receive comprehensive cancer treatment close to home.
Why Participate?
Cancer touches almost every one of us at one time or another. According to the American Cancer Society, one in three women and half of all men will develop cancer during their lifetime.
Your support is needed to help Methodist Richardson, a not-for-profit healthcare facility, continue to provide the best in technology and the best in compassionate care for those facing cancer. All gifts to the Foundation in support of WildRide! are tax deductible in accordance with IRS regulations.
