Brief Description

Showcasing the splendor of the Sonoran Desert in bloom, Tour de Cure offers riders the opportunity to experience the beauty of the SW via a 80, 62, 32 or 8 mile route. Riders of all abilities may choose their route - from an 8 mile novice & family-friendly ride to a challenging Metric Century, all designed by experienced cyclists to offer safe and scenic rides in the natural landscape of the Valley of the Sun. Rides start and finish at REACH 11 Sports Complex, in N Phoenix.

Distance Check-In Start Time 80 Miles 6:15am 7:00am 62 miles/Metric Century 6:30 AM 7:30 AM 32 miles 7:30 AM 8:30 AM 8 miles 8:00 AM 9:00 AM The 8 mile and Family Fun Routes take riders through the beautifully landscaped residential Desert Ridge neighborhood. The 32 mile route offers a blend of residential communities and the natural beauty of the desert in spring. Cyclists on the Metric Century Route pedal north through the communities of Anthem and New River, and are rewarded with a final climb that offers majestic views of the McDowell Mountains and Tonto National Forest. Riders return via the Phoenix Sonoran Bikeway - designated as one of the Best Cycling Secrets in Arizona, to a party and celebration at REACH 11. Participants will be supported by an enthusiastic team of volunteers at rest stops every 8 - 10 miles, featuring an array of rider-friendly food and beverages, and SAG (Support and Gear) vehicles along the routes. At the Finish Line, our celebration will feature entertainment, exhibits, massages, and lunch. REGISTRATION AND FUNDRAISING INFORMATION: Registration is $ 15 until March 1, 2012, and $ 25 from March 1 through March 24. ALL CYCLISTS must raise the minimum of $ 150 in addition to the registration fee to participate in the event. Registration fee does not count toward the fundraising minimum, and is non-refundable.
