Additional Information
The Tour de Vineyards is considered an easier ride with one big hill with the rest of the course being rolling to flat. The ride is similar to events like the Elephant Rock, MS 150, or Copper Triangle-it is not a Napa ride with 20 riders and a van to drive you to winery's and the ride does not stop at each winery as they are busy preparing for that days Colorado Mountain Winefests "Festival in the Park". An aid station is available at Carlson Vineyards (approximately half way through the course) which features famous "Palisade Peaches" from Talbott Farms. Its a great way to get some exercise before wine tasting at the Festival in the Park.
Start & Finish at Peach Bowl Park (take exit 42 off I-70 and go south less than a mile to 5th and Elberta). The ride begins between the hours of 7-8 am (start at your leisure during this time frame but before 8 am to avoid winefest traffic later in the morning). FREE SHOWERS WILL BE AVAILABLE at the pool in the park (you bring towels, soap, etc). The Festival in the Park (@ Riverbend Park) is only 5 blocks (less than 1 mile) from the start/finish and shuttle buses will be also be available from Peach Bowl Park. Tour participants receive a colorful T-shirt, course map/instructions, welcome packet from the Grand Junction Visitors & Convention Bureau, and a refreshing post-ride pasta salad brunch. Please note: you need to provide your own bike/helmet.
