Our BEST OF THE BAY bike ride is a world-class “Super-Century” ride. You would have to travel to the Sierras or beyond to find an equally great route, yet here is one you can BART to! On this ride you will enjoy panoramic bay views, miles of pastoral and forested hills, and even deep, cool redwood forests. This route has only a few city miles so you will see little vehicle traffic on the back roads we follow. Cherry City Cyclists will provide you with plenty of SAG support, beautiful reststops and food appropriate for this type of ride. You finish at a restaurant meal (included).
We think that this route is the most beautiful contiguous 100+ miles in the urban San Francisco Bay Area. There are ten separate climbs and thrilling / dangerous descents, culminating with the (optional) CAT 1 climb up the infamous Sierra Road.
The repeated climbs are great training, and with proper fuel every 17 miles, you get training that is actually enjoyable!
