Location

Registration is at the Pool Activity Area in Willow Metro Park. Willow MetroPark is located near New Boston, Michigan, east of I275 off of South Huron Drive (exit 11), six miles south of I94. A park entrance permit is required. The one day permit cost is $5 per vehicle unless you have an annual MetroParks permit that is available for $25.

Description

The event consists of 6 laps on a flat course in a low traffic area for a total of 13.2 miles. The event will be held rain or shine. Event is limited to 250 participants.

Tming

The Timing Guys will provide professional, computerized timing which will enable quick and accurate results.

Races

Individual, tandem,and open (handcycle, HPV, etc.) events.

Prizes and Awards

Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category. 1st place finisher in each category receives their entry fee. Prize awarded for fastest male and fastest female. Medals and prizes will be given out only during the Award Ceremony at the conclusion of the event; they will not be mailed afterwards.

Schedule

Check in opens at 7:30 am. NO DAY OF EVENT REGISTRATION. Racing starts at 8:30 am. Riders are responsible for being at the start line on time. For start times and results visit http://www.fredericjames.com/events.

MI Challenge

This event is part of the Michigan Challenge Points Series. Riders participating in the Michigan Challenge should enter the Willow Time Trail in their Michigan Challenge category.

Mandatory

Helmets must be worn. A USCF Athlete Release Form must be signed at check in. A valid USCF license is required. Your USCF annual license number MUST be included with this entry to enter all Master's categories, Sr. Men Cat 1-4, or Sr. Women Cat 1-3 . Annual licenses may be purchased online at www.usacycling.org. A one day USCF license may be purchased as part of this entry. Senior riders with one day licenses may only race as Sr. Men Cat 5 or Sr. Women Cat 4.

Rules

All USA Cycling rules apply. No drafting allowed. Riders are responsible to be at the start line on time. No time allowance will be given for late starts.

Classic Bike Category

New for 2013 are Men's and Women's Classic Bike Categories. To enter this category, you must have a bike with standard drop handlebars (no tri or aero bars) and standard steel wheels (no carbon wheels or aero wheels). Also, aero helmets are not allowed.

Protests

Results will be formally posted after all riders have completed for a 15 minute protest period. Riders may question any results with the USCF Chief Referee. At the end of the protest period the results are FINAL and the award ceremony will begin. No changes to results will be made after the protest period ends. It is the participant responsibility to validate their time prior to leaving the event.
