Brief Description

The South Texas Outdoor Life Festival is hosted by the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Bike Masters and AUDI San Juan. This festival starting at 7:00am and will offer various outdoor activities for the entire family to enjoy, such as a 5K Run, road bike race, kayak race, community bike ride and mountain bike race. 5K run

7 – 8 am South Texas Outdoor Life Festival 5K Run $15 entry fee Race enthusiasts prepare for one of the biggest 5K races in South Texas. This enthusiast race is designed to give runners a chance to test their endurance, speed and competitiveness in a fun and competitive environment. The race will conclude with an award ceremony hosted by the race sponsor. CAT: 14 UNDER/15-19/20-29/30-39/40-49/50-59/60 AND OVER

1K Family Fun Run FREE

7:45 am 1K Family Fun Run - FREE The entire family is encouraged to participate in this FREE fun run which will take place at Bentsen-RGV State Park/ World Birding Center in Mission, TX, on Saturday, October 27 at 7:45am. The number of participants and spectators expected at the event is 300. Please note: No medals will be presented for this race.

35 Mile Road Bike Race

8:30 – 10 am South Texas Outdoor Life Festival 35 Mile Bike Race - $25 entry fee This enthusiast race is designed to give bike riders a chance to test their skills in a fun and competitive environment and will be held at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park/ World Birding Center in Mission, TX Cat: Open/Intermediate/Beginners/Promotional Division(people that have never raced) This race will conclude with an award ceremony hosted by the race sponsor.

Community Bike Ride FREE

10:00 am Community Bike Ride - FREE The family cycle starts at the Bentsen – RGV State Park in Mission, TX, on Saturday, October 27, at 10am. Cyclists of all ages will be able to enjoy the wonderful scenery and climate of the Rio Grande Valley during this FREE for the entire family, non-race ride. : No medals will be presented for this race.

Kayak Race

1:00 – 2:30 pm South Texas Outdoor Life Festival Kayak Race - $5 entry fee Get ready for some competitive paddling as you test your kayaking skills in the only kayak race in South Texas to be held at Bentsen-RGV State Park in Mission, TX o Kayaks will be provided by Bike Masters; however, you may choose to bring your own.

MTB bike Race

4:00 pm $25 dlls entry fee Competitors prepare yourselves for the bike ride of your lives! Push your limits and test your biking skills against other top notch mountain bike racers at Mission’s Hike & Bike Trails on Saturday, October 27, at 4 pm. 3 top winners get awards .
