FOUR ROUTE OPTIONS:
25, 45, 67 and 100 mile routes on paved roads throughout beautiful Leelanau County. The scenic terrain varies from flat to rolling hills with a few challenging “power hills” on each route.
RIDE DETAILS:
• Well-marked roads on all routes.
• Detailed route maps provided.
• Roving SAG support for emergencies.
• Food stops with toilet facilities.
• Post ride lunch.
• Showers at Glen Lake High School.
• Bike Techs available morning of tour for last minute help at reasonable rates.
RIDE FOOD STOPS:
Great food on all routes. Rest stops on longer routes are spaced 20-30 miles apart, each with its own lake view. Local specialties will be featured. Each rest stop has toilet facilities.
POST-RIDE HARVEST LUNCH:
Lunch will be served at the school from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. The lunch is included in the ride fee and guaranteed for riders registering by September 11. Lunch may or may not be available for riders registering after September 11 depending on the number of day of ride registrations so register early.
ONSITE CAMPING:
Free camping will be available at the Glen Lake High School grounds on Saturday night. Restrooms and showers will be open from 5:00 p.m. Saturday until 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Coffee will be available Sunday morning.
SAFETY:
• Helmets must be worn by all riders.
• Riders are to obey all traffic rules and laws and to ride in a courteous and safe manner. Michigan law
requires cyclists to ride as near to the right as practicable and no more than two abreast.
• Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a cycling adult.
• Have your bike in good working order.
REGISTRATION/PACKET PICK-UP:
• Online registration closes at midnight, Thursday, September 16.
• Day of ride registration is available.
• Save money by registering by August 28.
• Packet pick-up/day of ride registration is 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Glen Lake High School.
• Century riders should plan to start by 8:00 a.m.; 67 milers by 9:00 a.m.; 25 and 45 milers by 10:00 a.m.
Lunch service ends at 4:00 p.m. and SAG support ends on all routes at 4:30 p.m. so gauge your ride time appropriately.
• Parents or guardians must sign release for riders aged 17 or under.
• Your wristband is your admission to food stops, the lunch and for SAG service.
• This is a rain or shine tour so no refunds will be made after August 28.
START/FINISH LOCATION:
All routes start and finish at the Glen Lake High School located 20 miles west of Traverse City at 3375 W. Burdickville Rd., Maple City, MI 49664. From Traverse City take M-72 west for 14.0 miles then bear right onto S. Coleman Rd./Co. Rd. 669 for 3.4 miles to W. Burdickville Rd./Co. Rd. 616. Turn left and go 1.1 miles to the school on the left.
PERFORMANCE SHIRTS:
New design and color for 2010! A premium quality long sleeve polyester knit shirt in neon green that wicks moisture for cool, dry performance. Great for riding, running and exercising.
Order shirts by September 16 to take advantage of the pre-order price of $35. A limited number of shirts will be available on the day of the ride for $40.
