Brief Description

Tejon Ranch is located at the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley. At nearly 270,000 acres, Tejon Ranch is the largest private land in California. Its 422 sq. miles make it about as large as Los Angeles. The ride will begin inside the ranch amongst the majestic mountains surrounding the Grapevine. Cyclists will be privileged to ride the virgin roads of the ranch, where few cyclists have ever been. At 3,500 feet, the temperature should be about 20 degrees cooler than the valley floor.

Rides Offered

Full Century - 100 Mile Ride ** Metric Century - 100k or 62 Mile Ride ** Quarter Century - 25 Mile Ride ** Family Ride - Up to 5 miles

CAUTION

These are mountain courses. Even though they are on paved roads, they contain a lot of climbing. They are extreme and challenging. There will be options available to make the courses easier for the less than hardcore cyclist. The easier options will still contain climbs. Please review the ride maps on www.legacycentury.com before registering.

Full Century - 100 Mile Ride

Starting within the Ranch, Riders will head north-east on rolling hills for about 11 miles until they start an 800 foot climb to a panoramic view of the San Joaquin Valley. Riders will head back to the Tejon Pass and on to Gorman. At Gorman they ride to the Old Ridge Route where they will climb Bald Mountain. From the mountain they descend to Antelope Valley. Riders will then head back to the Ranch. The ride has 6,755 feet in accumulative ascents.

Metric Century - 100k or 62 Mile Ride

The Metric Century follows the Full Century course until riders arrive at the turn off for Bald Mountain. This course is not only shorter, but it is significantly less challenging. From the Bald Mountain turn off, riders will continue east on the 138 until they arrive in Antelope Valley. Once they arrive at the bottom of Three Point Road, they will return to the ranch. The ride has 3,245 feet in accumulative ascents.

Quarter Century - 25 Mile Ride

This ride never leaves the ranch. It is great for riders who do not like traffic. Starting at the same point as the Full Century, riders will head north-east deeper into the ranch through a series of rolling hills for about 11 miles until they start an 800 foot climb and enjoy a panoramic view of the San Joaquin Valley. Riders will then return, ride out to the Castac Lake and finish where they started.

Family Ride - Up to 5 Miles

Good for beginning riders that are not quite ready for distance. It is a relative flat ride out to Castac Lake and back. Riders can set there own distance up to 5 miles by determining where they want to turn around.

**PRIVATE ROADS**

The Century Ride runs through a course comprised of 47% private roads with no public traffic. The Metric Century Ride has 78% private roads, while the Quarter Century and Family rides run through a course comprised of 100% privite roads with no public traffic.
