All participants must wear a helmet. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. SAG vehicle available. Event will be held rain or shine. This is a 20 mile Charity Bicycle Tour around Edison and Metuchen townships. While this is a recreational tour, it does include some hills and the 20 mile length is a substantial distance that may not be appropriate for very new riders or young children. The police cannot hold the traffic back indefinitely so cyclists need to maintain an average pace of at least 8-10 mph in order to complete the tour in the allotted time. Children ages 10 or younger must be on a tandem bike or on a third-wheel attachment with an adult. All riders should carry a spare inner tube in case of a flat. Ride Marshalls with tools will be available to help change a flat at one of the rest stops. Tour route maps at www.edisonnj.org or www.metuchennj.org.
