Brief Description

The spooktacular sixth-annual Halloween Bike Ride benefits Habitat for Humanity of Durham. Experience scenic views of Durham County as you ride 31, 62, or 100 miles. All routes are fully supported and start and finish at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park in downtown Durham. Gear up for a ghoulish good time and compete for best costume!

RIDE DETAILS

  • 31, 62, and 100 mile routes
  • Fully supported with Durham County Sheriff and rest stops
  • Route support closes at 4 p.m. Please make sure you can arrive back at the finish line by this time.
  • Helmets required
  • $35 pre-registration
  • $45 walk-on registration
  • Pre-registered check-in and walk-on registration opens at 7:30 a.m. at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP). For directions to the DBAP, CLICK HERE.
  • All riders must be registered and must check-in to receive rider ID and cue sheets.
  • Cyclists under 18 must be accompanied by an adult during the ride.
  • All cyclists will depart at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
  • Have fun with the Halloween theme and compete for best costume! Winners will receive a gift certificate from one of our generous bike shop sponsors. Costumes are not required to ride.
  • Post ride party with refreshments and live music by Sea Cow.
  • Join the Raise the Roof Rewards Program and help build a Habitat home. Pledge to make or collect donations and receive special Halloween treats. Read below to learn more.

  • DONATIONS: RAISE THE ROOF REWARDS PROGRAM
    The Halloween Bike Ride is a fund-raising event. Although donations are not required, we hope you'll help Habitat build a home for a family in Durham.

    When you register, pledge to make and/or collect donations and receive the following Halloween treats. For each donation, you “buy” a part of a Habitat home and help make the dream of home ownership a reality for a family in Durham.
  • Donate/collect $25 (or more) to “buy” a door bell chime and button and receive a commemorative t-shirt.
  • Donate/collect $50 (or more) to buy shutters and receive commemorative cycling socks and a t-shirt.
  • Donate/collect $500 (or more) to buy landscaping materials and receive a jersey, cycling socks, and a t-shirt.

    There are many ways to contribute.
    1. Make a donation when you register.
    2. Ask your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors to donate on your behalf.
    3. Collect donations and bring them with you to the event. Please make checks payable to Habitat of Durham.
    4. Fundraise online. When you register online, an individual fund-raising page will automatically be created for you.

    SAFETY INFORMATION
    All roads are open to regular traffic. Please be courteous and ride single file, stop at all stop signs and obey all traffic laws.

    ANSI, ASTM, CPSC or Snell certified helmets are mandatory for all riders. Riders are responsible for keeping their bicycles in safe working condition. Minors under the age of 18 must ride with a parent or guardian. Please carry a spare tube, patch kit, pump and water bottle.
