Brief Description

Rolling thru the hills of Southwest Oklahoma, the Dehydrator bicycle race and ride offers challenges and personal rewards for all ages and all levels of athletic ability. The race, with distances of 14 to 56 miles, will challenge even the most experienced rider. The Dehydrator is sponsored by the Duncan Band Boosters club in proud support of the Duncan school bands (both junior high and high school). Proceeds from the event act as the main fundraiser for these outstanding musicians.

EVENT WILL BE HELD RAIN OR SHINE! ENTRY FEES ARE NON-REFUNDABLE! -------------------------------------------------------- All rides and races start at the Simmons Center. Participants will be staged at the north parking lot. A pace car will lead the racers to the race course at 7:00 a.m. All races will have separate standing starts. The recreational riders will start on their respective courses at 7:05 a.m. Entry fee includes: - FREE t-shirt and water bottle go to the first 400 entries. - FREE meal after the race/ride - FREE access to the Simmons Center facilities after the race/ride PACKET PICK-UP: Packets can be picked up at the Simmons Center on Friday July 24th from 6 - 9 p.m. or starting at 6:30 a.m. the day of the event. FREE MEAL and Simmons Center available after the ride/race: After you have finished the ride / race use your participant number to receive a free meal and to enjoy the use of the Simmons Center’s fabulous recreational facilities. Extra meals may be purchased for a small fee, and towels are available for rent at the Simmons Center for 50 cents. No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the premises. MASSAGES: Massages will also be available at the Simmons Center after the race courtesy of Moore Massage Therapy. For a $5 donation to the band you will receive a basic massage. For donations of $10 or more you will receive a more complete massage. REST STOPS: Stops will be provided approximately every ten miles on the tour routes. There will be plenty of fluids, fruit & cookies. Out on the race course, there will be a feed zone where you can be passed a bottle of water or PowerAde by our staff or food by a support person you provide. Hand ups outside the zone are NOT allowed. AWARDS: (Race Only): Farings are ineligible for awards. After the event, a ceremony will be held at the Simmons Center. Championship jerseys will be awarded to the Men’s and Women’s winners in the Under 20, 20-49, 50-64 and 65+ age categories. Medals will be awarded to the first three finishers in each of 5-year age groups (men and women). Medals will be awarded to the first three finishers in each category of the tandem race. Decision of judges is final. HEALTH AND SAFETY RULES: Helmets will be required for all entrants. Please follow all traffic laws throughout the ride for your own safety. Sag wagons will be available with water and road assistance for riders who have mechanical trouble or become too fatigued to finish. Traffic control will be provided for the race in the form of corner marshals and a pace vehicle. Obey their commands! The pace car is the only motorized vehicle allowed on the course (NO PERSONAL SUPPORT VEHICLES TRAVELING ON THE COURSE DURING THE RACE!)
