Brief Description

Start/Finish
The famous Copper Triangle has long been considered one of Colorado’s classic alpine road rides. Graced with breathtaking scenery, gorgeous roads and three challenging climbs, the Copper Triangle exemplifies cycling in the Colorado Rockies. Amply stocked aid/rest stations will be positioned throughout the course. Upon returning from your ride, participants will be greeted by the “Alpine Celebration”.

Lodging at Copper

Make a special weekend of the Colorado Cyclist Copper Triangle and enjoy the splendor of the Rocky Mountains at beautiful Copper Mountain. Copper Mountain Resort will begin taking reservations December 1, 2009. Call Copper Mountain Resort at 1-866-837-2996 and reference the Copper Triangle or guest code #3GH1C6 to receive the discount rates.!

Ride Start Time

Please plan to start your ride between 5:45 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. We encourage riders to begin early to avoid the traditional afternoon mountain thunderstorms and highway traffic. Colorado State Patrol will not allow anyone to start prior to first light (5:45 am) without both front and back lights on your bike.

Bike Numbers and Wrist Bands

You must wear your event bike number and wrist bands at all times!! Your bike number must be attached to the top tube of your bicycle. The numbers are designed to stick to themselves and not to your bike. Attendants will be monitoring all aid stations and you will need to show your wrist band in order to receive refreshments. Your wrist band is also your ticket into the post-ride Alpine Celebration and lunch.

Jersey/Packets

Riders who register by JULY 23 can choose to have their packet and jersey mailed for an additional $10.00 charge or you can pick up your packet at Copper Mountain in the registration pavilion between Friday, Aug 6, 4p.m. to 8p.m. and Saturday, August 7, 5:30a.m. to 8a.m.

Jersey Fit

If your Jersey does not fit, you can, subject to availability, exchange it at the event at the merchandise booth. Please note that availability will be limited and so we can’t guarantee that all sizes will be available.

Camping

There is NO RV or car camping available at Copper Mountain Resort the weekend of the event. However, there are several campsites near Frisco, and Lake Dillon, CO just a few miles down the road from the resort.

Weather

Expect temperatures to be in the upper 30’s to low 40’s at the start with normal daytime highs in the upper 60’s to low 70’s. Mountain weather is highly variable, so be prepared for thunderstorms or even rain.

Private Sags

For the safety of all riders, private sag vehicles are NOT allowed on the course.
