Brief Description

The ride offers options of 25, 62 mile routes and a 100 mile century option. Also, after a great turn out last year, there will again be a 15-20, 36 and 50 mile off road course on the Historic Bartram Trail sponsored by Sorba. The bike ride is around J. Strom Thurmond Dam at Clark's Hill and covers two states, three counties, and twelve communities. This event is a family ride for cyclists of all ages (children under 18 accompanied by an adult).

The Best Dam Ride event gives everyone interested in cycling an opportunity to test their skills and enjoy the beautiful spring weather with a ride around Lake Thurmond. The 10th Annual Best Dam Ride benefits Southeastern Firefighters' Burn Foundation. Southeastern Firefighters' Burn Foundation provides assistance to the patients and families at the Joseph M. Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, GA, including free lodging at the Chavis House, and other support services including: daily meals, transportation, medications, and anti-scarring garments.
